This piece was a collaboration between 3 artists attending the EMMA Collab of 2018. The octopus is holding various tools: a hammer, Japanese wood saw, branches for basket weaving, glass cutter, torch for copper, paint brush and pencil. It was made by carving out a solid piece of steel using hand held grinders and chisels - a method I was eager to try under the guidance of the grinder master Neville Parker.
